Over 76,000 new Covid-19 patients recorded during past week
Thailand logs 76,161 new Covid-19 cases and 40 deaths from June 8–14, with Bangkok topping the list. Seniors remain most affected age group.
The Department of Disease Control (DDC) reported on Monday that over 76,000 new Covid patients were recorded during the past week.
According to the DDC, 76,161 new Covid cases were recorded between June 8 and 14, bringing the total number of cases since January 1 to 476,584.
Of the 76,161 new cases, 72,166 were hospitalised, while 3,995 were treated as outpatients.
The DDC also reported 40 more Covid-related deaths during the past week, raising the cumulative death toll since January 1 to 154.
The five provinces with the highest number of new Covid cases last week were:
- Bangkok: 17,945 cases
- Chonburi: 3,315 cases
- Nakhon Ratchasima: 3,027 cases
- Chiang Mai: 2,678 cases
- Rayong: 1,775 cases
The DDC added that the top three age groups with the highest number of Covid cases during the past week were:
- 60 and older: 14,757 cases
- 30–39: 14,561 cases
- 20–29: 13,889 cases
